Introducing Hitched and Haut Sessions!

Hitched and Haut is an idea I've had rolling around in my brain for some time now, inspired in part by a new trend in wedding photography called trash the dress This paired with my love for fashion photography made me want to start offering my clients a little something special for the bride after her big day has come and gone. Another chance to throw on that gown, get all glammed up and do a high end photo-shoot to capture forever the beauty of her and her dress. So to kick things off I asked my friend Melanie to model for me so we could get some pics to show everyone what I'm talking about. So without any further ado, I now present, Hitched and Haut!

This little girl was so cute! We were taking pictures at La Paloma Resort and this little girl came up to Melanie and told her she looked like a princess and asked if her mom could take a pictures of them together :)

A special thanks to Melanie for running around in the hot muggy weather with me!

Also I wanted to extend another special thanks to Bridal Affair where we got the dress for the shoot, they were so nice the whole time, they we truly a pleasure to work with, so if you need a wedding dress, make sure to stop by Bridal Affair on Prince and Oracle, they'll take care of you!

¡Viva Las Vegas!

Wow what a weekend, I think all totaled Joey and I spent over 14 hours in the car! But it was all worth it since we took a day trip to vegas to photograph my brother-laws's engagement photos with his beautiful fiancé Amy who will be getting married November 3rd. Neither Amy or I had ever been to Vegas before so we a blast walking around the hotels and taking in all the sites, and of course taking a gazilion photos! We even got to be serenaded on a gondola ride at the Venetian! So yeah, we had a blast, and I'm really stoked to go back for my birthday in September. Here's some of my favorite pictures from the trip :)

(oh and on a funny side note: we saw over 6 brides walking around vegas just in the short time we were there, kinda funny to me at least, it started to be like a game, like where's Waldo bridal style. But anyway, back to the pictures)

First we made a quick stop on the hoover dam.

Then after 4 hours in the car we finally arrived in Vegas!

I think this one is my favorite from the trip.

The ceiling in the venetian is amazing, and it took us a while to figure out how to get it in the picture :)

Finally we finished up the day with the water display at the Bellagio.

Can I just brag on my hubby for a second?

Ok, so my hubby (who had never really even used a camera before we met) is doing so great lately with his photography! He's been my second shooter for awhile now and I keep using more and more of his stuff, but this last little practice shoot he did SO GREAT! He was able to shoot the whole day with the camera on manual and not ask me a single question, and look at some of the amazing shots he got! And yes that's me modeling, I think I'm one of the only photographers I know who likes having their pictures taken as much as they like taking pictures :)

Whirlwind Anniversary Weekend

Wow! What a weekend! Joey and I are excited to say that we just finished up celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary!!! Time flies so fast, it seems like we were just celebrating our 1st. I have to say I was a little worried that he had forgotten about it though since we have been so stressed out with house stuff, moving and work the last couple months, but he managed to pull off a pretty great 3 day celebration!

~Day One~

Saturday Joey took me down to Bisbee, Arizona and I have to say, Jerome has some competition now for my favorite town in Arizona because Bisbee was soooo cute! I love old towns with tons of character and it doesn't hurt if half the houses are sliding down a hill (not that I'd want to live in one, but it makes for some very cool pictures). So needless to say we had a great time wandering around Bisbee, taking pictures, and eating the best steak sandwich I've ever had. I will defiantly be going back there in the future!

~Day Two~

Sunday I awoke to find a rose on my pillow, cherry turnovers on the night-stand (gosh I love those things!) and Joey saying get up and at em' with a surprise trip up his sleeve. After hopping in the car and climbing up 9000 ft to the top of Mt. Lemmon I was blessed with a picnic lunch in the woods along with a sky-ride on the winter ski lift to the tippy top of the mountain. The best part of the trip was all the green pine trees and the temperature which was a cool 73º the whole time! Pretty nice compared the the 98º down in Tucson!

~Day Three~

Monday July 9th, Our Official Anniversary!

After getting all dressed up in the morning, Joey took us to a hotel for the night (since we're living with friends until our house is done on the 27th) we dropped off our bags and went out to lunch at Sauce were we got my all time favorite pizza "Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza" if it sounds weird, don't knock it till you try it because once you do you'll be addicted! Then Joey surprised me with the best surprise of them all..... BALLROOM DANCING LESSONS!!!! We Showed up at "'Shall We Dance" dance studio and had our first of four lessons were we learned the Fox-trot and the Waltz (or at least the basic steps to each). I am so excited since I am defiantly a ballroom dancing junkie! Not that I can dance, but I will watch any ballroom dancing movie till the tape dies, and then I'll get up and prance around the house trying to copy what I saw, usually with no success whatsoever. So yeah, you can bet I was excited to be actually learning how to dance!!! After our lesson we drove over to the Melting Pot, a fabulous little fondue restaurant here in town and snuggled up in a cozy little private corner booth with a curtain that closes for maximum privacy.... oohh la la!

Thank you my Darling Joseph for a wonderfully fabulous anniversary!
