Boldly Going Where No Photographer Has Gone Before....

Ok so that was cheesy, but Joey and I had SOOOO much fun dressing up this Halloween as Star Trek characters I just had to share a quick picture we snagged at the party we went to! I worked hard all week sewing the costumes from scratch and I'm so stoked about how well they came out! I was inspired since Joey bought me the entire first season of the original star trek series for my birthday and I've been watching them non-stop. I never realized just how big a trekkie fan I really am until now, but it's ok I'm learning to embrace my inner geek.

Is it wrong that now I want to dress up in them again and go to one of the trekkie conventions!?

I hope everybody had fun! Tons of photos hitting the blog this week so stay tuned!

WE HAVE A STUDIO!!!!

I know I have mentioned in posts lately that big things were happening and in the works and I can now finally announce that we are opening our first photography studio! We have been looking and looking forever for a space that would be just right for us and early this summer we found one and have been busy little bees working to update the space and remodel it. It's an old warehouse so we had an interesting time converting it for our needs, but I'm super stoked about how it has turn out in the end.

To celebrate our new studio we are throwing a HUGE party, and we want all of you.... YES YOU (and every friend you have who isn't busy that night), to come! We want to totally pack this place with as many people as we can fit! We're going to have a DJ, so make sure to bring your dancing shoes as we party the night away in celebration!

The Most Amazing; Most Awesome; Most Magical Proposal EVER!!!!

In my job I love hearing how all my couples propose. And there have been some good stories along the way. But this one pretty much takes the cake! Of course we all know I'm a little biased towards disneyland so I'm sure that has something to do with why I think it's so great! Take a look and I'll share how Joey proposed to me on Monday!

Validation

This past week I've been in sort of a weird creative funk; we artists get that way from time to time. Perils of the trade I suppose. And when I saw this today it totally made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. So if you are also in need of a good warm fuzzy feeling here you go :)

Sleepwalking Fail

So Joey and I are in LOVE with a blog called the "Fail Blog". It is frreaking hilarious, and if you haven't already checked it out at one time or another you should stop whatever you are doing and look at it RIGHT NOW! However I would suggest not having any sort of liquid in your mouth at the time of viewing.

So anyway the other night we were checking it out, looking at some of the newest postings and saw this video they had put up on there. We laughed so hard I almost peed my pants... no joke...

So I just HAD to share lol... hope this brings a smile to your face...

Thrill The World!

I am so excited to have found this website!!!! They are a site deticated to trying to teach people the dance to each year have people all around the world do it at the same time and set a world record for the most people doing the dance at once. In 2008 they had 4,179 from 10 countries dance to the song all at the same time. The fun part is they have all the instructional videos breaking down each dance move for the whole song online for free!

Joey and I spent our whole night tonight trying to master the first 4 lessons, we had so much fun! I want to be able to break out our thriller moves at our next wedding, how fun would that be!?

Believe it or not this is something I've had on my to do list of things to learn for a while now. I've always wanted to be able to do it, and now I will! Maybe not quite like mr. Jackson, because, let's face it.... there is only Michael Jackson. But I'm sure going to be the best dead zombie I can be!

Yeah!!!!

If you want to learn the dance as well go to THRILLTHEWORLD.COM

I just wanted to take a quick moment before I go into my post to thank all the people who commented about Pastor Ryan. Joey and I loved him very much and it's been very difficult for us the past couple of days to think about him being gone. I still am trying to avoid the issue and just keep busy to keep myself from crying. But we love hearing all your stories about him it keeps him alive in our hearts. I personally have never before lost someone I am close to and so I think it's been difficult for me to process these feeling for the first time as well. I'm not quite sure how to continue on. I feel horrible posting anything on top of that post because I feel like I would be moving on from something that is still very close to my heart. But in the effort to try and continue on with life like I know Pastor Ryan would have wanted all of us to do I'm posting again for my own good. We love you pastor Ryan and you will always hold a special place in our hearts :)

Ok on with something a little less somber...

My Top 4 Favorite Christmas Flicks

So... I am a Christmas lover... it's by far my favorite holiday of the entire year!  And every year there are a few movies that I just HAVE to see or it doesn't seem to feel like Christmas, most of these I have been watching ever since I was a little girl.  So I just thought I'd share my top 4 must see Christmas movies with you as well :)

# 1: It's A Wonderful Life (my family watches this every year together on christmas eve ever since I can remember)

# 2: The Muppet Christmas Carol... yes I said Muppet... also another childhood favorite of mine...

# 3: The Year Without A Santa Claus... I always get the miser brother's songs stuck in my head every year!

# 4: How The Grinch Stole Christmas... old or new I love them both!

HOLY CRAP!!!!! I feel like Ms. America!

I am finally able to officially announce some BIG NEWS! Rangefinder Magazine has written a 5 page article about me and my photo biz!!! I can't even begin to describe how over the moon I am! I mean come on... Me!!!! Little old ME!!!

I'd like to just take a moment to thank all the little people who have gotten me to where I am today LOL!:

My Mom: With out whose help I would never have become the creative individual I am today
My Dad: For always being there to encourage and support me
My Grandpa: For giving me my first real camera
My Sister: Who has modeled for me and let me practice on her since she was 11
And my hubby, without whose love and encouragement and support I would have never taken the leap to start my business

I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

Ok enough with the mushy stuff on with my fantastic news!

They wrote an awesome 5-page article on me and my biz and included some of my favorite pictures.

For those of you who aren't in the photo world Randfinder is a national and I think even international magazine that goes out to professional photographers everywhere. So being profiled by them is a huge honor!

I'm so excited and can't wait to get my official copy of the magazine this month in the mail, I've been stalking their internet site waiting for the issue to go up so I could download the PDF all day!

You can find a link to the awesome article they wrote about me here: READ THE ARTICLE

Halloween Fun

My lil sis threw a great Halloween party this year at her apartment up in Phoenix that Joey and I went up and attending and I am just dying to share some photos with you guys! Mine and Joey's costume's came out so cute!

I was a flapper and Joey was Indiana Jones...

Kasie was Princess Giselle and her hubby Ryan was the Joker. Kasie sewed both of their costumes herself from top to bottom from scratch! Didn't she do an amazing job!? Ryan's a pretty awesome special effect make-up artist as well!

Audrey wore her little devil puppy costume and Kasie's dog Mingus was a pirate!

Ryan carved that awesome Mario pumpkin and my mom and dad dressed up as well... whatever my dad was... he was CREEPY looking! (oh it was his birthday on the 31st as well, so it's duel holiday for us!) And I think this is the first time in my entire life when I have ever seen my mom dress up in a costume... like ever! It was a pretty historic moment. LOL!

Kasie had this really fun game she planned where we all had a secret character on our backs that we had to ask everyone else questions about and try and figure out what horror movie character we were.

Ahhh... my cute little family...

I was having a little too much fun with my flapper dress. I FREAKING LOVE THINGS THAT SWISH!!!! I will twirl around and swing back and forth anytime I'm wearing a fun little dress that will move and swish and this one was like EXTREME SWISHIENESS!!!

Ok... sorry mom, but this one was just so fun I had to put it in here. I have NEVER gotten a picture of my mom making a funny face like this... EVER!!!! I'm so freaking in love with this photo, I will cherish it forever lol!

After we played the first guessing game we played another little trivia game about halloween and SURPRISE! I WON! I was so excited! My prize was two tickets to watch a Harkin's movie! Oh and then the other pic is my trying to acted freaked out and scared of my father's costume.... I've decided it's a good thing I'm a photographer and not an actor.... lol!

Thanks Kasie for an AWESOME party!!!!
