*And We're Off!*
Joey and I took off out of Tucson this morning bright and early and headed up north to photograph Grace & Jeremy's wedding in Portland this weekend! Yeah for destination weddings!!!
Although I have to start with the fact that I HATE flying! Well... I guess I should rephrase that... I love flying on little prop planes, but the moment you put me on a 747 I start feeling queasy. Soooo... in order to overcome that I have to keep my mind on something else and the best way I have found to do that is by coloring. Yes, coloring... It looks childish, but it is so relaxing! Try it sometime!
Here I am coloring.... and being goofy trying not to think about flying...
Look green stuff! (Hey, I'm from arizona... we don't have much of that here!)
Me pretending not to be freaking out :)
Ah and look, the result of my ridiculous anxiety :)
Check back soon for some pics from the wedding!

~Jenna & Cody's Engagement Session~
Joey and I had such a blast trampsing around Tucson with Jenna and Cody this past sunday! Both Jenna and Cody graduated from the U of A so I was really excited to shoot some pictures down there for the first time. And we just scraped the amount of cool little spots for photos there. I was also super stoked when I heard that they were bringing a vintage bike and Cody's skateboard with them! We had fun getting shots with those! Then after we got a bunch of photos a the University we headed downtown for lunch at the Cup Café and some more photos downtown. Jenna and Cody were such a joy to be around all day and I got some AWESOME photos of the two of them I just can't wait to shoot their wedding up in Show Low later this year! Cody's mom owns and runs Montauge by Marilyn, an event co-ordination service here in town, so I know that it's going to be beautiful!
Here are just some of my fav photos, there are a ton cause I just couldn't decided!
I think this first photo is one of my new all time favorites!

Paying homage to Old Main :)

If that first photo was one of my new all time favorites this next one is defiantly a close second!

Aren't they both beautiful!!!

I'm pretty much in love with this one too:

Picture Perfect :)
Isn't this shot fun!? I didn't even use photoshop! Can you guess how I did it?

I wish I had a photo of us trying to get this shot! I had Joey open up the hatchback of our escape and drive away slowly with me sitting on the bumper with the camera and had Jenna and Cody follow us running. We were quite a site!

Thanks for looking! :)

~ Lori & Jack ~
A big congratulations to you both on 20 years of marriage! Lori and Jack's daughter Andria contacted me a month ago about doing a surprise photo shoot for her parents while they were in town to commemorate their 20th wedding anniversary. Joey and I were so blessed to meet up and hang out with all of them part of the day, they are all such fun loving people we had a blast taking their photos. Of course it didn't hurt that we were downtown photographing at one of my favorite spots either!
Here are some of Joey and I's favorite photos from the session:

~Affordable Arizona Housing~
Over the past couple of years I have become more and more aware at the outrageous state our housing market is in. Even though we find ourselves in a "buyer's" market here in Arizona, many areas are still asking astronomical prices for decent homes. Knowing the multitude of newlyweds I do I am all to aware of the stress that occurs when a couple finds themselves pregnant with their first child and want to finally settle down and buy their first home, only to discover they can't afford to buy even a tiny old home in a decent area.
That idea spurred me to create this art project that pokes little fun at the housing options that are currently available to first time home buyers in Arizona :)
Enjoy :)

Mommy's Little Helper,
Everyday when I'm sitting at my computer working, my little puppy always curls up in her chair next to the window and keeps me company, she also interrupts me ever so often so that I take a break and don't go crazy staring at the computer all day! But every time I turn around she just looks so darn cute, especially when I turn around and she is curled up in a ball upside down! So I decided to try and sneakily capture it but setting up my camera on a tripod and very ninja like would slide my had over and take a photo until she finally did the crazy upside-down maneuver. And so I thought I'd share just a few of the photos I took with you so you can see how hard it is to keep working when I have this staring at me me from the corner!

Mayra & David Flores • Febuary 2nd 2008
Joey and I had a blast hanging out with Mayra and David on saturday for their super fab modern western wedding! We started out at D'Alba Salon on 4th ave and then they had their ceremony at St. Augustine's cathedral downtown (you know... the really big white one) After that we had a quick little photo shoot downtown and then headed out to Old Tucson Studios for the reception. Here are some of my favorite images from the day so far...

I love this picture of Mayra's Mom, she is so sweet!
Have I mentioned I love taking photos of makeup???

Mayra got ready in her niece's bedroom, I loved the bright colored walls!

It wouldn't be a pangburn wedding without a mirror shot...
Now for the ceremony, St. Augustine's is under some pretty heavy restoration right now, so I had a get creative with my angles for taking this picture.
I love this photo of Mayra I got during the ceremony...

Yeah! We're Married :)
Why is twirling around in a big pouffy dress so much fun?
Isn't she gorgeous!!!

FAVORITE!!!
Heading out to the reception in a horse drawn carriage

Playing with off camera flash during the first dance... How cool is that!
Mayra and David had just over 350 people at their wedding, so the dance floor was just a bit crowded!
Later I pulled them outside for a quick smooch by the campfire.

I absolutely love this photo! Every time I see the little boys expression I smile
Mayra and David hired Photo Fun Booth to come to their wedding and take pictures of all their guests, Joey and I couldn't help but get in on some of the action!
